It is absolutely imperative that dancers are strong, physically fit, and able to endure the rigors of an extended dance performance. A good stretching & conditioning regime gives dancers the opportunity to strengthen their bodies to compliment their technical and stylistic dance training and prevent injuries.
Stretching & Conditioning sessions are designed to gently stretch the body beyond its current comfortable limits. The exercises may give rise to an amount of soreness both during and after a session has completed. They may not be comfortable and fun at all times.
QDC's body conditioning exercises will help dancers to build strength and flexibility.
In this class, students will increase their understanding of dance alignment while increasing their flexibility and strengthening their core, feet, legs, back, and body posture.
The exercises covered will focus on defining and training special muscle groups to help dancers become more relaxed and stronger, allowing for better focus while dancing and reduced injuries.
Dancers will also focus on learning how to stretch correctly by releasing muscle tension and mental tension, leading to a reduction in overall tension.
