Passionate about performing and dance as an expressive art form

Madi Farrell is an emerging dancer/choreographer based in Brisbane, Australia.

Dancing since she was 5, Madi has trained in the genres of jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary, hip hop and acrobatics. Developing a passion for contemporary dance through its eclectic and abstract stylistic nature, Madi underwent a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance Performance) at the Queensland University of Technology and just recently a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Honours) at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

Gaining her RAD teaching certification in classical ballet, as well as her CSTD teaching certification in modern jazz, she has created multiple small works on local students alongside teaching. Madi has performed in CIRCA’S Leviathan, Meryl Tankard’s Chants de Mariage, Greame Collins’ Etudes, James Welsby’s Ultimate Form, Jade Brider’s End, Csaba Buday’s Much Less Normal, Elise May’s Oneself or One’s Self and Mechanical Ballet at the Museum of Brisbane.

Madi has a love for teaching, instilling this love in her students. She believes that dance is a platform that allows for individual expression, encouraging one’s fullest potential and their true authentic self. It’s your safe space. A place where you can experience artistic expression and be purely yourself, which in her opinion is the most fulfilling experience one can encounter.
