A seasoned performer and teacher; new to the Brisbane Community

Taylor Tran is an Adelaide performer and teacher who has recently moved to Brisbane to study at QUT on an Excellence Scholarship. She has been dancing, singing and acting since the age of 3 and has trained with esteemed companies including Australian Teachers of Dancing and TIDC Performing Arts Studio. In 2021, she obtained her Certificate III in Dance with Empowerdance, specialising in all genres including musical theatre.

Taylor made her professional debut in John Frost and Opera Australia's production of South Pacific (2014). Since then, Taylor has performed on local, national, and international stages including Around the World (Shane International), A Thousand Cranes Fringe tour (Gemini Collective), Disneyland and Universal Studio Performances (Australian Youth Performing Arts Team 2019) and demonstrating for the Australian Teachers of Dancing Musical Theatre Syllabi (2016-present).

Taylor continued her musical theatre journey as a performer and teacher at the Adelaide Youth Theatre and has been a part of many productions such as Shrek Jr as choreographer, West Side Story as Anita, Newsies Jr as musical director and many more. In 2022, Taylor’s directorial debut Lion King Jr was nominated for The Theatre’s Association of South Australia’s “Youth TheatriCal” award.

Through the Junior Theatre Festival, Taylor has also been invited to be a part of the creative teams piloting new Junior MTI (Music Theatre International) licenses in both Adelaide and Melbourne. At only 18, these experiences saw Taylor meeting and teaching children from all over Australia, sharing her love for the performing arts.

Taylor is thrilled to be working with QDC in 2023 and cannot wait to share her passion and commitment toward musical theatre education.
